Educational Sales Specialist (CT, Western MA Region)

New England area reseller of technical products to the education market is seeking a professional, energetic individual with a passion for cool technology to promote a #1 selling line of 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC machines and other cutting-edge training equipment to high schools, colleges and universities in the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts region.

Geographically, the ideal candidate would be located central to the area, providing easy access throughout the territory.

Entry-level, sales-driven individuals are encouraged to apply, including entrepreneurial-minded educators. However, penetrating educational institutions, gaining access to mid and high-level personnel will be the highest priority for this position.

Successful candidates should possess at minimum, a 2-year degree preferably in engineering or equivalent technical field. Marketing experience, an electro-mechanical aptitude and/or troubleshooting skills are a bonus. Combined with proven communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills, applicants must demonstrate the drive to be successful.

To effectively provide measurable sales growth within the territory for these specialty technical products, responsibilities include:
* Communicate with prospects and existing customers through direct sales visits, email, telephone contact and other activities
* Research school districts, identify key decision makers and set-up sales meetings
* Organize and help conduct technical sales seminars, presentations and equipment demonstrations
* Install, commission and provide operational training on equipment sold
* Develop new opportunities through creative promotional tactics
* Have the ability to work independently from a home office and travel locally 4-5 days per week, with occasional overnight travel.

Fab Lab Technical Specialist (North Shore/Metro-Boston)

New England area reseller of technical training equipment to the education market is seeking a professional, energetic and creative individual with a passion for cool technology to provide installation and technical training services for a #1 selling line of 3D printers and other digital fabrication equipment.

Geographically, the ideal candidate will reside in the North Shore-Metro Boston area for convenient, occasional travel to our Essex, MA office. However, extensive travel (mostly day trips) will be required to other points throughout New England.

Successful candidates should possess at minimum, a 2-year degree preferably in engineering, art and design or equivalent technical field. Marketing experience, an electro-mechanical aptitude and/or troubleshooting skills are a bonus. Combined with proven communication, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills, applicants must demonstrate their creativity, knowledge of fab lab equipment and passion to be successful.

Responsibilities include:
– Install, set-up and provide training to customers on new equipment at high schools, colleges and universities
– Provide post-sales technical support for new customers
– Develop applications and use cases for various equipment; Promote to education community
– Develop content and conduct technical sales seminars, workshops, training sessions and presentations
– Promote, market and sell professional development and technical training services
– Support outside sales representatives at exhibitions for machine demonstrations or other sales related activities

Ideal candidates will possess the following attributes:
– Good problem solving skills with an electro-mechanical aptitude
– Previous teaching experience in a fab lab or makerspace
– Creative and applications focused
– Understand how to operate/repair 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC machines, etc.
– Experience in CAD/CAM, Corel or other design software
– Good verbal, communication, presentation and phone skills along with a customer-service-oriented and caring attitude
– High-level of proficiency with computers, networking and MS Office
– Have the ability to work independently from a home office and travel anywhere in New England
– Have the strength and fitness to work with heavy loads
– Not intimidated by technology and willing to put in the time to learn something new
