Have you ever had a great idea for a way to improve a product that you use everyday? Or are you creative enough to design a building or work of art from scratch? Here's your opportunity...
The eigth annual 2012 Extreme Redesign Challenge is now open. The contest consists of three main categories:
- Middle / high school level engineering challenge (In Europe: School/College Engineering, 16-18 years old)
- College level engineering challenge (In Europe: University Engineering, 18+ years old)
- Art & architectural challenge open to students of all grade levels
In the past, thousands of students have submitted their great ideas and brought those ideas to life with a Dimension 3D Printer. Dimension, the world’s leading provider of 3D printers, is once again calling on middle school, high school and college-level students worldwide to send us their best, innovative and creative redesigns for the Extreme Redesign Engineering Challenge. In addition, graphic arts and architectural students are invited to send us their best, innovative and creative designs for the Art & Architecture Challenge.
Winners in each of the categories will receive a $2,500 (approx €1750) scholarship and runner-ups will receive $1,000 (approx €700) scholarships. Semi-finalists from each category will be printed on a Dimension 3D Printer and the models will be sent back to the students along with a $50 gift card (approx €35). Everyone who enters the contest will receive an official Extreme Redesign T-shirt, courtesy of Dimension 3D Printers.
Entries will be accepted September 8, 2011 through February 2, 2012.
